Accessibility

'It's important to us that as many people as possible can access and understand our site. We have built it in accordance the W3C WAI Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0, and aim to conform to Level AAA. As far as we know, our xhtml and css are valid.

We are trying to make the content of the site easy to understand, so that people with learning or intellectual disabilities can find out what we are doing. So the first page of each of the main sections contains a video which says a bit about the section. We have tried to use simple language, short sentences and short paragraphs in the site, especially on the main pages. In the top right hand corner of each page, next to the search, there is a speaker icon - if you click on that, the page will be read out to you.

We are also trying to include lots of pictures in the site - this is happening slowly. We have tested the site with people with learning disabilities, but we will be doing more testing.

Our project of ‘maximum accessibility’ on our site is ongoing. A lot of people are contributing to the site, some of them voluntarily. Because of this, we are adding accessibility features bit by bit. Please send us a message (see 'contact details' in 'about INMD') if you think there is more we could do.'
